Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies the response. Karnes County Criminal History does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, the message is kept as needed to prepare a response. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a visitor loads a page, the servers automatically receive certain technical and usage details:

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Karnes County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. Its general reference material identifies how to seek Karnes County records from the Karnes County Sheriff's Office, the courts with criminal jurisdiction, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. The website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party dossiers.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through one of those tools is governed by that partner's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices, which are outside our control. Review the applicable provider policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Karnes County Sheriff's Office, court systems, Texas DPS, the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, legal-aid resources, or outside search providers. Once you follow an external link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select targeted ads. That processing takes place on the providers' systems, not ours.
