Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of Karnes County Criminal History. Opening a page, reading its content, or using a search feature means that you accept these terms. If you disagree with any condition, you must stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. Karnes County Criminal History is privately operated and has no affiliation with a local, Texas, or federal agency. Neither this website nor its advertising partners offers a service intended for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other use governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The website is not a consumer reporting agency or private investigation firm.

1. What This Website Is

Karnes County Criminal History is an independent reference website. It does not store official criminal records, conduct official checks, submit filings, or act for any government office.

Its content routes readers to original custodians, including the Karnes County Sheriff, county and district courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Access to government material remains governed by laws such as the Texas Public Information Act and the criminal-history rules in Texas Government Code Chapter 411.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the website, you agree not to:

  • Violate a federal, Texas, or local law
  • Harass, stalk, threaten, or intimidate another person
  • Use the content for a hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decision
  • Attempt unauthorized access to a system or account
  • Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools against the pages
  • Interfere with the website or prevent another visitor from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use material from this website or a linked service to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Texas registry information exists for public-safety awareness, not confrontation or vigilante conduct. Texas did not create a special general-user registry-misuse offense, but ordinary laws concerning harassment, stalking, threats, assault, and other unlawful conduct still apply.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not produce credit reports, consumer reports, or official background checks. Its content and linked tools are not offered to evaluate job applicants, rental applicants, insurance eligibility, or creditworthiness. You must not use them to:

  • Make a hiring or firing decision
  • Evaluate a renter or housing application
  • Set insurance terms or judge creditworthiness
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A lawful official check for a regulated purpose must come from the Texas Department of Public Safety or another properly compliant provider suited to that purpose.

5. No Legal Advice

The website supplies general reference information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Karnes County charge, warrant, conviction, expunction, or order of nondisclosure applies to a particular person. Consult a Texas-licensed attorney for advice about a specific matter.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are provided "as is." No warranty is made that:

  • Any information is complete, accurate, or current
  • The website will remain available without interruption
  • The pages will be free from errors, bugs, or security flaws
  • A partner search result will be complete or correctly matched

Criminal records can change when charges are filed, dismissed, corrected, restricted, or expunged. A page here is not an official statement by the Karnes County Sheriff, a court, Texas DPS, or any other government custodian.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to courts, government agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. Those third parties control their own content, availability, fees, and data practices. Karnes County Criminal History does not control those services and is not responsible for their operation. Review the third party's terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code on this website belong to Karnes County Criminal History or the relevant content partner. Except where law permits, you may not copy, change, distribute, or create derivative work from that material without prior written authorization.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Karnes County Criminal History is not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the website, reliance on its content, or use of any service reached through a link.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold the website harmless from claims, actions, demands, expenses, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use of the website or your violation of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute related to use of the website must be brought in a court located in Texas, subject to any law that requires a different forum.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised from time to time. A revision becomes effective when the updated language is published on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited, suspended, or ended at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected provision will be adjusted only to the minimum degree needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
